In children, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, weight loss during prolonged therapy, insomnia, and tachycardia are very common. Adderall side effects- there are three types of side effects they are cardio vascular, nervous system and gastro intestinal. Cardio vascular side effects are Palpitations, tachycardia, elevation of blood pressure and cardio myopathy. Central Nervous System: The symptoms are Psychotic episodes, over stimulation, restlessness, dizziness, insomnia, euphoria, dyskinesia, dysphoria, tremor, and head ache.Gastrointestinal symptoms are Dryness of the mouth, unpleasant taste, diarrhea, and constipation... Anorexia and weight loss can also happen. . Pemoline
(Cylert). The side effects are as follows. Central Nervous System: Convulsive
seizures, attacks of Gilles de la Tourette syndrome, hallucinations, dyskinetic
movements of the tongue, lips, face and extremities, abnormal oculomotor
function [nystagmus and oculogyric crisis], mild depression; dizziness;
increased irritability; headache; and drowsiness. Insomnia is the most frequent side effect of Cylert.This occurs mostly in therapy prior to an optimum therapeutic response. In most of the cases it responds to a reduction in dosage. Gastrointestinal: Anorexia and weight loss. In most of the, cases the weight gain usually resumes within three to six months. Nausea and
stomach can also happen. Miscellaneous: Suppression of growth is possible
with the long- term use of stimulants in children. Skin rash is also reported
with Cylert. Mild side
effects that appears early during the course of treatment with Cylert
often subside if we continue the treatment. If in case the side effects
are of a significant nature, the dosage should be reduced or the drug
should be discontinued.
